CHEMICAL COMPOSITION The Cat's Claw has been extensively studied in terms of their chemical composition from the 70's in several places in the world. The first group of substances studied was that of the alkaloids oxindoles. It was subsequently reported the presence of several additional types of chemicals including acid glycosides quinóvico, tannins, catechins, procianidinas, plant sterols (beta-sitosterol, stigmasterol, and campesterol) and carboxyl alkyl esters. The study has shown that Cat's Claw has antioxidant activity, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, immunostimulant, anticarcinogenic, antimutagenic (guard cell), antiviral, and grastroprotectora antidepressant.
